Now Playing: "Southern CA Tour, Sneak Previews, Free Song & Help Us Give Back!"

Welcome to the September Noizeletter! Here are the Top Five Noizy Thingz

(1) Southern CA Tour In October!

Noizemakers have written for years asking when I’ll make it to SoCal. My answer has always been: I will as soon as Mr. Pitt and Ms. Jolie invite me to play a lavish birthday party for one of their 27 children. (I was hoping they’d adopt me.) But last month I learned they’ve up and moved to New Orleans, without so much as a change of address notice to me. So, my dream devastated and my negotiation point removed, we’ve finally gone ahead and booked shows in LA and San Diego in October! Check the Showz Calendar and come make some Noize!

(2) Sneak Peak At Our Upcoming Releases!

Meet our mad genius Art Director, Noizemaker Of The Month Chun Yan Miu, who is embarrassed at how much I love him. Yan combines his experience animating high profile brands with a unique and irrepressible creative energy. Visiting Dream Cortex in Hong Kong, I was stunned at Yan’s talent — he and the animation team infuse a fearless sense of adventure and personality into all the Noize characters and Winter release productions. Wanna see a preview? Here’s the new Bottomus. And here’s Riley The Robot [11MB] in 3D!

(3) Rock Out To Sidney’s Birthday Song!

I do songwriting workshops for superkids nationwide, most recently in Indy and Utah. We spend 90 minutes writing and recording a song, then I mix it down and publish it on the web — no fancy rehearsals, no pro mastering sessions . My daughter Sidney requested a workshop for her birthday. It features backing vocals by Sidney and her sister Riley, and we think it’s almost as rad as Sidney. Here’s your song, Beautiful! I hope you love it even more than your favorite book, If You Give A Mouse A Mousetrap. (Did I get that title wrong?…)

(4) Join Us To Double Our Giving Back Commitment!

We’ve doubled this year’s Giving Back Showz commitment to 24! We aim to partner with one impactful group in each metro we visit. Last year we fed 2,860 people in Reno; in 2008 we raised over $3,800 for a Bay Area girl’s education. Our Giving Back Program‘s a win/win for all: It inspires us to join together to do some good, creates new Noizemakers nationwide, and ends with a fun interactive day making music. It’s like eating peaches all day long and never getting full. Contact Noizemaker #1 to help us make an impact in your city.

(5) Weldon Dodd Expands!

That sounds wrong. Take 2: Weldon’s job expands! After three months of Doctor Noize Inc., Weldon has proven even more invaluable than he claimed he was gonna be. So in addition to his original duties, Weldon’s now handling much of our bizness, online, and mobile app development on this side of the pond, working in conjunction with our great Project Manager Ben Yiu at Dream Cortex. Our new website and first mobile app — Bananas! — are gonna be delicious. We haven’t changed Weldon’s job title, because we like Noizemaker #1.

Thanks from yer buddy for life,
Doctor Noize

P.S. To the losers who stole my laptop, iPhone, car keys, house keys, wallet, and more backstage while I was onstage performing a family show earlier this month… You didn’t steal anything from me I couldn’t replace in a few weeks of real work. You should try it sometime. I’ll be doing what I love long after you face the consequences of this or your next cowardly and soulless crime. Since you tried to log onto my Facebook page, there’s an outside chance you’re reading my blog too. So I thought I’d write you a little note — if you can read.

P.P.S. I think that’s how Mr. Rogers would have written that.
