Now Playing: "A Slight Correction To Yesterday’s Big Announcement…"

Dear Everybuddy!

As the nice lady who comes into my all-white puffy room to administer my Happy Meds every morning just told me:

(1) I am not supposed to have unsupervised internet access; and
(2) Apparently I am not actually a part of the Apple iPad launch.

Sorry about that; my bad. For those who are not yet in on the joke, or who had forgotten the date… Happy belated April Fool’s Day! This has become a Doctor Noize tradition, the third year in an row in which my April Fool’s Day Noizeletter is a wee bit lacking in truthiness.

Two years ago the April 1st Noizeletter claimed I was joining The Wiggles. Last year it claimed I had been cast as the rockin’ music teacher in High School Musical 4. And yesterday, I was absolutely convinced I was a major part of Apple’s global iPad launch. Once again, it all just seemed so real to me…

Thanks again this year to so many of you for your congratulatory emails and phone calls. Once again, I give particular thanks to those beautiful souls who have now believed multiple years of glorious April 1st claims. I love you more than you can possibly know. If I ever decide to become a cult leader, you will be the first people I call.

And finally, as has become my tradition to write on April 2nd… You can always believe the core news of every Noizeletter I send — except if it’s sent on April 1st. And that’s the truth. I hope this has given you a good laugh. I certainly enjoy it every year.

And now, it’s April 2nd, so here’s the truth…

I have no professional relationship with Apple. I have, in fact, met Steve Jobs twice — he demonstrated great generosity and unpublicized kindness years ago befriending my computer-programming brother who was dying of cancer. That’s a story for another time, but I will never forget it. So iSteve Jobs is the Noizemaker Of The Month, because Steve is The Man and I do rely on Apple technology every day to run my shows and my business.

Grammaropolis also has nothing to do with Apple. HoweverGrammaropolis is a wonderful new brand created by my friend Coert Voorhees, I did write the theme song for it, it’s gonna do amazing things teaching kids about grammar, and it’s just getting launched. Much more on that in an upcoming Noizeletter.

I am not playing shows at Apple stores anywhere, or playing a live streamed broadcast show. However, I am in the San Francisco Bay Area right now. I played a show here the other day and have a big show in Palo Alto on Saturday at noon at the Palo Alto Children’s Theatre. Come on down to the show, whether or not you’ve picked up your new iPad, which incidentally will not come pre-installed with any Doctor Noize content (as far as I know)…

I’m glad we had this chat. I will be responding individually by week’s end to every single one of you who was kind enough to email or voicemail your congratulations yesterday. You are awesome, I have a great job, and I truly value the support you give me and the fun we have together through Doctor Noize. Life is too fundiferous to be too serious.

See ya at the showz and around Thelonious.

Yer buddy for life,

Doctor Noize
