“I Tre Tenori” means “The Three Tenors” in Italian. Please use the Italian version — or any other fancy language — when addressing them, because it makes them feel better. There is something very grandiose about speaking to people in a language they don’t naturally speak, and there is something very grandiose about I Tre Tenori — Luciano Frogerati, Placido Flamingo, and José The Ferret. Grazie.

It goes without saying that this is the loudest trio of frog, ferret and flamingo you’ll ever meet. It also goes without saying that this is probably the only trio of frog, ferret and flamingo you’ll ever meet. But they are also the most worldly and talented. Sometimes it is hard to acknowledge all the talent in this trio, because this trio is always acknowledging their own talent. But be like Phineas: See through all that and praise them for their glorious gifts anyway. Sometimes that shuts them up and they get weepy with unexpected joy.

Personality aside, this much is true: There is nothing more astoundingly strong and beautiful than a good operatic voice, and these fellas have just that. Look a little deeper, and you will also find a trio who are deeply grateful to The International Band Of Misunderstood Geniuses for welcoming them along. You’ll also find three guys who act like they can’t stand each other, but actually need each other and are each other’s biggest fans. It’s complicated.
